Five Less-Traveled Countries That’ll Change How You Think

As an example, when choosing between a vacation to Italy or Estonia, most will pick Italy, probably because they’ve heard a lot about Italy and not much or nothing about Estonia. But is this the right choice? Well, really, it depends on you. Do you like crowds or not? Do like it warmer or cooler? Once you ask yourself an array of these questions, you’ll be ready to choose between two countries.

Keep reading and you’ll hear about some countries that you’ve barely heard of before… and will now consider as your next vacation spot.

Kiribati

Kiribati is an island nation in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Its closest countries are more than a hundred miles away. Maybe the fact that not many people have visited here is what makes this island so beautiful, with its so clear water you can see the turtles swimming, and amazing sanded beaches the would be so very crowded if they weren’t in this location. Sadly, because of rising sea levels, this island may disappear.

Iceland

This country isn’t usually in the least visited country in the world lists, but I have to say that it should get more tourists than it has. Though tourism levels are rising, only about 2.2 million people visit every year. And even though that’s a lot more that its population of 364,000, compared to same sized Ohio, which got 210 million visitors in 2017, that’s very little.

Iceland, to be honest, isn’t exactly famous for its ice. It’s more famous for its outstanding greenery and its capital, Reykjavik, where you can see the northern lights, amazing geysers, waterfalls, and more.

American Samoa

The American Samoa is an island nation in the Pacific Ocean. Though it is more famous than its other island neighbors, like Niue, it’s still very isolated and not very visited.

It is famous for its interesting wildlife, which includes animals like turtles and plants like a hibiscus. The beaches are also incredible and there are mountains with unparalleled views of the sea.

Monaco

Monaco is the second smallest country in the world, which may explain why not many people travel here. In fact, pretty much no one comes to Monaco to only visit Monaco. Most people who come here are tourists from the neighboring French city of Nice.

Tuvalu

Tuvalu is the least visited country in the world, so I figured I should put it on here. This sunny Polynesian island only get 2,000 visitors a year! This country is full of coral, in fact five out of its nine islands are actually coral atolls. It has really amazing sandy beaches, and little idyllic towns all around.
